„MOMA: mobile mothers - new generation workers"

The project "MOMA: mobile mothers - new generation workers" (Project No. VP1-1.3-SADM-02-K-01-042) is funded under 2007-2013 Human resources development action program, priority 1 instrument "Integration of persons facing social risk and social exclusion into labour market."

The information and mutual assistance centre MOMA is created under this project. The centre promotes activeness, entrepreneurship, and social participation of mothers who have been socially excluded from the labour market due to maternity leave and other reasons. It is planned to bring these mothers in different Lithuania's regions together into mutual assistance groups, where they can make contacts, communicate, discuss and help each other. These groups are provided with consultations, psychological assistance in choosing an area of studies or work, acquiring skills and qualifications, solving issues of family and work compatibility.

The centre is not only providing aid and support to mothers, but also is searching for family-friendly jobs, socially responsible employers, and possibilities for mothers to work part time, or applying other flexible forms of work. A database is being created at the moment, where employers who apply flexible forms of work and mothers looking for such jobs will be registered.

The MOMA centre is a mobile centre of experts and volunteers that travels around Lithuania and promotes a dialogue between workers (mothers) and employers, provides consultations, informs about work and training possibilities, organizes educational activities, and labour markets. The MOMA centre is active in these regions: Mazeikiai, Akmene, Kelme, Telsiai, Joniskis, Siauliai, Ignalina, Visaginas, Utena, Taurage, Jurbarkas, Druskininkai, Alytus, Lazdijai, Jonava, Marijampole, and etc (20 regions in Lithuania).
